Design Considerations:

Our biggest desing challenge I think was agreeing upon a design! We worked on this with fellow designers and everyone had such tremendous ideas... Ultimately we needed to design a feature that would eventually be wroked into a complete garden master plan and make sure that all aspects of it were accessible and safe for those who sought its comfort and tranquility regardless of current health.

Construction Challenges:

The biggest challenge was securing all the donations for this project. Finding the labor was easy. This whole project, though we lead and coordinated it, really wouldn't have been possible to complete without everyone who came to help (and get dirty). This tremendous project was for and really done entirely by the efforts of The Undergound, a grassroots organization of green industry professionals. Though the finished pictures are nice, you really need to see the progression photos to appreciate the dynamics of this donation. To see write-ups visit our News section. We'd like to specifically thank all of the suppliers that provided all of the equipment and materials to make this vision a reality: New England Nurseries, Bedford, MA- provided most of the raw materials and pond equipment; Savio Engineering, Albuquerque, NM- donated the Filter System; NECC Corporation, Woburn, MA - donated the boulders; North Star Farms, Westport, MA- donated perennials; Westin Nurseries, Hopkington, MA - donated plant material; New England Wildflower Society (NEWFS) - donated plant material.
