The McIlhenny Project

Description:

A Pondless water feature naturally designed and contructed utilizing a natural rock formation as the base.

Approximate Size:

10' x 12'

Number Of Waterfalls:

1; with mulitple steps

Fish:

N/A

Equipment Used:

.45 mil EPDM rubber liner, Geotextile underlay fabric, Savio waterfall weir and pondless reservoir, 2050 GPH submersible pump

Design Considerations:

To construct a pondless feature using an existing roack formatino that actually holds water is a consideration in itself. Maintaining scale was a major objective with this design.

Construction Challenges:

Any construction where you incorporate natural rock formations is always a challenge. To make the water stay within hte system with natural roak is sometimes a massive undertaking, especially with the smaller features which seem to be somewhat less forgiving! With how weathered the base stone was, we were really challenged to source out the perfect stone to make it all blend right.
